Veteran striker Luis Suárez is set to announce when he intends to leave Brazilian club Grêmio, which would free him to join former Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba at MLS club Inter Miami.
Journalist German García Grove of Argentinian broadcaster TyC Sports has revealed that the 36-year-old will speak at a press conference later on Saturday to clarify his future, around which there has been plenty of speculation in recent times, with The Herons’ interest well-documented.
Suárez’s Inter Miami links “a problem” for Grêmio
Grêmio head coach Renato Gaucho has previously called Suárez “a problem that the president of the club has to deal with” and described the situation as being “like a Mexican soap opera”. He also vowed only to select the forward if he could convince him he was focused on playing for the Porto Alegre club.

Inter Miami unable to pay Suárez release clause
The Brazilian side had stated they weren’t willing to sell ex-Liverpool star unless his $70 million release clause was paid in full, which Inter Miami wouldn’t be able do if they also wanted to sign him on a suitable contract, given MLS’ salary restrictions.
