Real Madrid vs. Atlético de Madrid

The second LaLiga Santander Madrid Derby of the year and Real Madrid’s third encounter with Atlético de Madrid overall will take place on Saturday evening in by far the biggest matchup in La Liga this week.  In the Copa del Rey quarterfinals, the neighbors faced off against one another in this stadium as well, and Los Blancos prevailed 3-1 after extra time.

But it was a very close game, and Atleti is in excellent form right now, having accumulated more La Liga points since the World Cup than Real Madrid. Derby is a must-see because Diego Simeone would love nothing more than to hurt Real Madrid’s chances of winning the title.

Unfortunately, reality likely won’t align with those dreams, as I think Real Madrid busts open a close match late to pull away in this one.
