Earlier this year, ESPN announced a blockbuster partnership with PENN Entertainment.
PENN was leaving their previous sports betting partnership with Barstool, and pivoting towards an agreement with ESPN.
This newfound marriage is resulting in ESPN Bet, which has the potential to be one of the most-used sports betting platforms on the market due to ESPN’s massive brand awareness.
Since the official announcement of the ESPN and PENN partnership, sports bettors everywhere are wondering when the actual launch date for ESPN Bet will be happening.
*Note – ESPN Bet is now live! It launched Tuesday, November 14
Here’s what we know so far:
When Will ESPN Bet Go Live? Thanksgiving Launch Expected
Unfortunately, ESPN Bet has not announced an official launch date. However, a go-live date around Thanksgiving Day has been floated out there as a likely target date.
With Thanksgiving being such a large event for NFL football bettors, it would make sense for ESPN Bet to actually launch before Thanksgiving.

What to Expect from the ESPN Bet App & Sportsbook
Up to this point, ESPN and PENN haven’t released too much information regarding how their physical betting app and sportsbook will look like.
However, based on PENN’s history with Barstool Sportsbook, we’re able to get a pretty good idea.
Expect to see a similar infrastructure to how Barstool Sportsbook performed. Things like daily bonuses and promos, odds boosts, featured same game parlays, and celebrity endorsed bets will likely be key featured within the ESPN Bet app and sportsbook.
Earlier this month, we looked at some more key features that ESPN Bet should include in their betting app.
Additional Sports Betting Apps to Use
We are still several weeks away from a potential ESPN Bet launch.
In the meantime, there are still a number of sports betting apps that you can bet with while you wait. Each of these sportsbooks have unique sign-up bonuses and boosts that are definitely worth taking advantage of.
It’s important to note that signing up and betting with these additional sports betting apps will NOT make you ineligible to use ESPN Bet once it launches in mid/late November. There is nothing stopping you from signing up with all of these betting apps today, and also signing up with ESPN in a few weeks’ time.
In fact, it is somewhat encouraged to sign up with as many as sportsbooks as possible. This allows you to maximize the amount of bonus bets claimed.
